It is summer and I am taking a little break between shows. So far the weather has been with us. The Nelsonville Music Festival was big fun. We had storms every night that took out our power and delayed the music. At one point I had everyone who was taking shelter in my tent, stand on the rubber mats. When the water reached our ankles, I realized that the rubber mats were not going to keep us safe from the lightning. Luckily I had light up tiaras to light our way and we joined the throng of folks partying and hanging out in the beer tent. When the bands came out on stage, we made our way up front and this is when those light ups came in handy. We were able to leave for adult refreshments or trips to the portapotties and make it back to the group safely. Those tiaras were beacons.
Comfest was extra nice this year. The temperatures were mild and the storms came late at night so as not to disturb the festival goers. We had a blast and made lot of friends and sold lots of tiaras. Love that show.
Yellow Springs was busy. Its a short show and people are there to shop. My kind of show. This time I set up early then shopped before opening time. Last time, I never got to shop and could only ogle what shoppers carried in their bags. If you have never visited this great show, you really should. Its amazing and everyone is so nice. We will be back in October so make plans to be there.
At the end of this month, I will be spending Saturday at Fur Peace Ranch. they are my neighbors and this will be a fun show. It starts at 3 and we will be up until after the Hot Tuna concert. We don't get in, but we can listen from the porch. I love those guys and it is a great place to listen to concerts, and don't forget the phsylodelic gallery where Jorma as collected much of his memorabilia from the 60's. It is housed in a silo which is why the name is misspelled.
I am looking forward to the Salt Fork show in Cambridge in August, then September brings Paw Paw Festival, and MothMan. Those are always a good time.
Hope to see you there.
